Offroad / ATVBring the ATVs, sand buggies and 4X4s because Juab County has plenty of room to ride. The dunes at Little Sahara Sand recreation area are our premier off-road destination, but you will find plenty of rugged backroads throughout our West Desert area. There are also spur roads off the Nebo Loop that can be explored in 4X4s. You can ride and drive year-round at Little Sahara and over our West Desert routes. Routes on Mt Nebo become snowpacked in lake fall - many turn into fun snowmobile trails. Levan Canyon is scenic and offers a fun drive. The main road is maintained and does not require four-wheel drive during dry weather. Spurs can be very rough. Mona Pole Canyon is becoming a popular area for ATV riding. It is the only route off the Nebo Loop that is open for ATVs. You can access it from the Loop, or from the Mona side. Riders are required to come back the way they went in - there is no loop option. Much of the land in Juab County is public, controlled by the BLM or Forest Service, and is open for recreational use. Remember, on public land ATVs can only be ridden in designated areas, and you need to obtain permission form the property owner to ride on private land. |
